Firefree is a U.S.- based leading manufacturer and developer of advanced intumescent fire-retardant and fire-resistant coatings, trusted across a wide range of construction applications.
Firefree specializes in passive fire protection solutions designed to reduce the spread of fire, limit the development of smoke and toxic gases, and provide occupants with critical time to evacuate safely — while minimizing property damage.
Our products have been tested at accredited third party International Accreditation Service (IAS) fire testing laboratories, are classified with Underwriters Laboratories (U/L) and have the approval of Factory Mutual (FM) Approvals.
Our coatings are engineered to meet the specific fire safety and environmental demands of Texas wildfire resiliency – while ensuring full compliance with applicable building and fire codes.
With advanced order processing and logistics capabilities, our products are readily available for fast shipment from our warehouses to any location across Texas.
Firefree distributes non-toxic, water-based intumescent coatings engineered to deliver reliable, cost-effective, code-compliant fire protection.
When exposed to flame or extreme heat (~350°F), Firefree coatings intumesce, expanding many times beyond their original thickness. This expansion forms a protective char layer that insulates the substrate, significantly reducing heat release, smoke development, and flame spread—thereby lowering the risk of flashover.
Firefree coatings are approved for application on a wide range of substrates, including: wood, gypsum board, plaster, lath, concrete, metal, tin, foam, composite panels, etc.

Our intumescent coatings are engineered to meet the unique requirements of each sector — helping protect people, assets, and infrastructure without compromising design or functionality.
Firefree 88® (FF88) is a premium intumescent fire-resistant coating that complies with ASTM E119, ASTM E814, ASTM E84, NFPA 286, ASTM E662, and FM 4470 (NFPA 276) standards for wood and other combustible materials.
Designed for application on walls, floors, ceilings, roof/ceiling and floor/ ceiling assemblies, as well as individual structural members, FF88 provides reliable fire protection where it matters most.
FF88 delivers proven fire resistance, controlled flame spread, and low smoke development, making it a trusted solution for a wide range of construction applications.
Firefree Class A (FFA) is a water-based, non-toxic, single-component thin-film intumescent flame-retardant coating that is fully tested and complies with ASTM E84 Class A (30-minute extended) and ASTM E2768 Ignition-Resistant standards at a minimal dry film thickness.
FFA is listed by the California State Fire Marshal and inspected by the International Code Council (ICC).
The Firefree Exterior Wildfire Protection System is a two-product system designed to meet ASTM E-84
30-Minute Extended (“ASTM E2768-12 30-Minute Ignition”), ASTM D2898 Method B weatherization standards, and ASTM E2957 standards for exterior applications on building elements such as: wall sidings, eaves, soffits, projections, and overhangs, helping to harden structures and enhance protection against wildfires and bushfires.
In addition to ignition resistance, the system helps protect structures from radiant heat exposure and wind-driven embers.
