Wildfires, whether burning trees or bush, generate tremendous heat, move rapidly and burn quickly. As a result homes and other structures caught in wildfires have a severe fire exposure for about 15 minutes. During this time frame the extreme temperature exposure can cause fire combustion of the home or structure. After that short but intense period, the fire will have moved on and the surrounding materials, which became fuel to the fire, will have burnt out.

Firefree 88 is a water-based, intumescent coating that has proven to withstand extreme temperatures (in excess of 2000F degrees) for an extended time (over two hours). FF88 is the first, fully tested, coating to bring a true fire barrier to a wide variety of exterior materials including wood, concrete, aluminum and composite materials.
