Firefree Exterior

Firefree Exterior is a premium quality, water based, non-toxic fire retardant coating designed to provide fire protection on eaves, soffits and overhangs. A fire retardant barrier is achieved by applying Firefree Exterior as a prime coat to these areas followed by the application of a high performance acrylic exterior paint.

How does Firefree Exterior work?

Firefree Exterior was designed to provide a delayed ignition on the coated eave/soffit and overhang areas by providing fire retardant protection in excess of the 10 minute California State requirement. When applied as a primer, at a recommended coating thickness, Firefree Exterior will slow flame spread, smoke development and flashover in the vulnerable eave, soffit and overhang areas.

Firefree recommends, in conjunction, the use of self-closing attic vents to further protect against the spread of flames and/or embers into the attic.
